TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS VISIT AME SYSTEMS Ararat Advertiser September 16 2005

Teacher Norm Hagar said technology has been on of those special elements that have distinguished human beings from other forms of life.
“It has caused rapid changes in society and to the way we do things, especially in manufacturing. Automation and the use of robots in industry has given manufacturers the ability to mass produce, thus increasing demand for mew and emerging skills such as microelectronics, robotics and system analysis,” Mr Hagar said.
Mr Hagar said the study of systems and technology is part of the VCE curriculum at the Ararat community College.
“I believe this subject encourages students to become practical problem solvers and is a vital cog in their education,” he said.
“Students must understand concepts and principles of a system and understand the impact of technology in society. Recently the systems and technology class visited AME Systems, an ideal place for students to observe all aspects associated with the manufacturing of vehicle wiring harnesses.
