Board of Directors
The AME Systems Board of Directors meet monthly and are responsible for governance, compliance and sustainable operation of the business.
Peter Carthew AM
Co-Founder of the business in the 1970s, and currently the Managing Director, Peter is totally committed to a harmonious, engaging and safe work environment, ensuring AME Systems is Capable, Reliable and Sustainable for the long term.
With a back ground in accounting and business, his vast experience in several industries over the past 40 years has seen him recognised through the Victorian Manufacturer Hall of Fame – Honour Roll in 2008 for his ongoing contribution to the manufacturing sector.
Peter has also made a significant contribution to the Ararat and District community and in 2005 was recognised in the Queens Birthday Honour list, being made a member of the Order of Australia.
Peter is married to fellow Board Director Lyn and they reside in Ararat. Together when time allows they love to travel, particularly to explore outback Australia.
Lyn Carthew
Lyn is a Board Director and Co-Investor supporting the activities of AME Systems, which is a family owned company. With 25 years background in business reconnaissance and strategic direction Lyn is well respected for her astuteness and intuitiveness in dealing with people in industry. She has a firm resolve to keep manufacturing industry alive in Australia, particularly regionally.
In her spare time Lyn has a special interest in researching natural medicines, and enjoys swimming, her home and garden.
Lyn is married to Managing Director, Peter and together they have an extended family of seven children and fourteen grandchildren. They have lived and supported the Ararat community for twenty five years.
John Gault
John Gault is the Principal Consultant of his own Australian and international business management services group.
John has a wide background of senior level management experience in a successful career with significant roles in both the private and public sectors. He has working professional and strategic associate affiliations with a number of related management service providers, including professionals in the fields of HR and Executive Consulting, Finance, PR, Logistics and Transport, Export Management disciplines, and others.
A Rotarian for many years, John was recognised by Rotary International in 1991 with the award of a Paul Harris Fellowship for outstanding service in Rotary to business and the community.
John is married to Ronda and they live on a small farm at Daisy Hill just south of Maryborough in Central Victoria. Between them they have nine children and 28 grandchildren.
Ross Hatton
Ross trained as a Metallurgist and has been involved in secondary manufacturing. He was employed as a General Manager responsible for Manufacturing and Product development of fasteners and adhesives for the building industry with multiple manufacturing facilities over a period of 25 years.
This employment was followed by a role for five years as the Australasian Operations Manager for NCI Packaging Ltd and its multiple manufacturing plants. This company produces a wide range of metal, plastic and paper packaging supplying a wide industry from paint through to ice-cream.
Since retiring Ross has become involved with a number of regional organisations including currently being the Chair of Grampians Tourism Inc., Board Member of Stawell Regional Health and previously a member of the former Grampians Pyrenees Development Board. In addition, he spends time in business mentoring with various clients.
Ross together with his wife Ruth resides at Stawell in Western Victoria, have three children and one grand-daughter. Interests outside of business include golf and gardening.
